Issy Vine
Issy Vine is a UK-based artist working in watercolour and fine liner illustration. Her work focuses on capturing everyday places, interiors, and cityscapes through expressive line work and soft, simplified forms. Inspired by environments across London, Brighton, and beyond, she explores the atmosphere and emotional character of familiar spaces rather than strict realism.
Alongside her artistic practice, Vine’s experiences in activism and whistleblowing have shaped the themes underpinning her work. Ideas surrounding feminism, social justice, identity, and human experience subtly inform many of her pieces, often through architecture, perspective, and storytelling.
Using clean ink outlines combined with loose watercolour washes, her work balances structure with fluidity, creating illustrations that feel calm, nostalgic, and quietly expressive. By reducing detail and gently distorting perspective, she aims to create work that sits between observation and interpretation — recognisable yet softened, like a memory.
At the core of her practice is an interest in slowing down and noticing the overlooked details of everyday life, transforming ordinary spaces into reflective and emotionally resonant scenes.
